Award winning podcast

My first ever podcast was with the extremely patient and charming James Abbott who invited me to talk about the art of Memento Mori for his award winning podcast, The Art of Dying Well. I absolutely love the fact that we were photographed with a handy skull (!) and that it is, to date, the most listened to podcast in the series.

In the chair is the marvellous Lynne Hanley. Lynne is an art expert and founder of ‘Beyond the Palette’ art tours. Packed with personality, she has been described as a ‘sassy raconteuse’ with ‘wonderful insight into paintings’.

So come with us as we’re reminded of our mortality through the paintbrushes and palettes of some of the world’s finest painters.

Beyond the Cross

The podcast that I recorded with James has a postscript! In 2020 he invited me to record an Easter series for ‘Beyond the Cross’. This begins with the Last Supper and ends with Noli me Tangere. Rather wonderfully I was invited back in 2021 to record another five-part series that follows events in the Christian calendar post Easter. You can view both series below. The 2021 videos include a section called the “Priest’s Perspective”, fascinating insights from the knowledgeable and engaging Fr Christopher Whitehead – priest of St John the Evangelist Church in Bath.

Titian’s ‘poesie’ paintings with Jo McLaughlin

It was a similarly fabulous experience to chat to Jo McLaughlin, a fellow art historian with wonderful insight and a great sense of humour. We discussed Titian’s poesie paintings for her podcast which currently airs every Tuesday on all major streaming platforms.

Jo McLaughlin is an art historian, curator, writer and arts for all champion. She writes and presents on all topics art historical and presents the Jo’s Art History Podcast.

Collaboration with artist and author Lilianne Milgrom

Following a collaboration with the incredible artist and author Lilianne Milgrom, which led to an episode of my quirky video series, Curated Canapés and Cocktails called ‘News Flash’, I had the pleasure of being the interviewer rather than the interviewee. Lilianne is so clever and delightful, it’s a great listen.

You can access both videos and my interview with Lilianne in the links below.

I was delighted to have the opportunity to interview the wonderful Lilianne Milgrom, author of ‘L’Orgine, the secret life of the world’s most erotic masterpiece’. We had a ball and she spilled the beans on everything from her feelings of protection towards the painting to wanting to paint nude in the Musée d’Orsay! To watch the interview click here.

Published articles for FOCUS magazine

I have also written three articles for the wonderful FOCUS magazine, a publication for expats living in the UK, and was honoured to be given top billing in their January 2021 edition. The articles are below, and it’s funny how they chart my progress throughout lockdown. I hope you enjoy them.
